Food Service Worker duties are include but not limited to:
Must have a thorough understanding regular and modified diets and combination of these diets. Set up tray line per each station and collecting missing items when needed. Able to perform meal assembly at different stations (meat, vegetable, starch, starter, milk, bread,) and its knows portion sizes, making salad, sandwiches, nourishment, soup and other food preparation. Able to follow recipes, doing meal and nourishment delivery as well as using dish machine and doing kitchen sanitation cleaning. Familiar with food terminology and principles of food safety regarding storage, rotation and temperature. Able to use kitchen equipment. Works on tray line placing one or more food items on diet according to menu, patient selection, and dietary modification. Receives, putting away and taking out food and non-food by set policy and procedure. Embodies good customer service with courtesy, respect, accuracy and timeliness services to patient, co-workers, supervisors and hospital staff. Consistently communicates and treat customers (patients, visitors, volunteers, and all Medical Staff) in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner. Handles conflict and problems in dealing with customer constructively and appropriately. Able to train junior staff, CWT and new employee on food related tasks. Respect public safety and security by following set policy and food service procedures. Follows instruction in caring, using, cleaning and maintaining all work area and equipment in sanitary conditions. Work Schedule:

Position requires lifting, pushing or carrying large containers, weighing up to 40 pounds. Food service transports food, equipment and supplies by manual or motorized cart. Food carts weigh up to 390 pounds. The 24 capacity carts require 12 pounds of force to initiate movement and break the static inertia. To keep our 24 capacity carts moving requires 7 pounds of force. Lifts or moves equipment and may be required to work on ladders (cleaning hoods) and use powered cleaning equipment (power spray unit). Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications. For this position, the job element method is used to match what you, the applicant, can do against what the work calls for. Your knowledge, skills and abilities will be compared to the knowledge, skills and abilities (called job elements) needed for success. Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element (WG-2 and higher only; screen-outs are not applicable to WG-1). A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
