Registered Nurse

The CLC (Community Living Center) staff nurse is a registered nurse responsible for continuous delivery of patient care. This position is currently seeking evening and night shift schedules. The successful candidate must be poised and articulate in communicating with people of varied educational levels and varied ethnic backgrounds. Able to work cooperatively as a member of a team in all assignments. Makes caring for the Veteran his/her priority while in the work setting and demonstrates customer service principles in all aspects of work and is self-motivated in the pursuit of meeting professional work standards. The staff nurse interprets the philosophy and goals of Nursing Service to others in the work setting; functions within established guidelines and demonstrates the ability to work effectively and develop therapeutic relationships with patients, their families and other professional and supportive personnel who provide patient care in collaboration with the NM, creates a positive work environment which enhances care delivery and professional development of clinically competent staff. Promotes, creates, demonstrates, and ensures a culturally diverse workforce in which the values and needs of all individuals are respected. Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for assuring that the placement of veterans into the Community Care Program meets VA eligibility. Coordinates the day to day placements, monitors the quality of care Veterans receive, monitors adverse events in facilities and reports to manager significant problems and concerns. Responsible for onsite and paper reviews as necessary and conducts annual reviews through assessment of various data. Conducts quality oversight visits to facilities every quarter to monitor Veterans' care. Placement with agencies. Each placement requires calls to the Veteran/family but also to the multiple agencies in order to find one which has an available aide for the Veteran's location and requested time. Participates in authorization entry in FBCS and CPRS. Authorizations specify frequency and duration of care purchased from community care agencies. Active participant in team meetings and conferences. Takes part in the training and orientation of newly hired registered nurses of the program. Collaborates with other VA Programs, state, local community agencies, and Veteran Service Organizations to access points of care and utilize methods to enhance health care choices of Veterans as needed. Performs outreach activities through informational sessions in local communities and organizations as indicated. Demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others. Other Duties as assigned. Work Schedule:

The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. For Applicants enrolled in MSN Bridge or Non-traditional courses of study:
The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along with a copy of the MSN transcript. Experience:

Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 1 year of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelor's degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience; OR a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) with no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 1-2 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment and has doctoral degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience required. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
