Regional Director of Donor Development (New York Office)

Job Description

The location of this position is at our Manhattan Office.

Purpose of Position: To secure funds for Jews for Jesus by managing a group of assigned, qualified major donors (caseload), as well as acquiring new donors, assuring that as many as possible are retained as continuing donors and are upgraded in their giving and engagement.

Reports to: National Director of Donor Development

Department: Development

Status: Full-Time Exempt, Travel is expected up to three days a week.


Ongoing Responsibilities

The Regional Director of Donor Development will:

  1. Create individual goals for each donor on his or her caseload based on the donor's history of giving and the organization's knowledge of that donor's potential.

  2. Develop a plan for each donor that will serve as a foundational communication and marketing plan for each donor on the caseload. Will faithfully and on a timely basis execute that plan so donors on the caseload are retained and upgraded.

  3. Work with program and the communications departments to secure appropriate project information, including budgets, and create offers, proposals and asks that will be used with donors on the caseload to secure gifts.

  4. Create monthly reports as required by management that accurately reflect donor caseload activity and performance.

5. Develop and implement plan for new major donor acquisition.

6. Perform other major donor activities as may be required.

7. Know, understand and protect the mission, goals and values of Jews for Jesus.



The Regional Director of Donor Development will have the ability to:

  1. Create reasonable financial goals for each donor, which is based on the donor's giving and their potential.

  2. Develop a personal contact and ask plan that takes into account the individual donor's interest, motivations, giving patterns and communications and ask preferences, for each donor in his or her caseload, in a timely and cost-effective manner, and retains and upgrades donors.

  3. Secure project and organization information and create and write effective offers, proposals and asks. Ability to secure information that can be sent back to donors to report on how their money was used.

  4. Create timely reports that reflect caseload and performance.

5. Develop and implement plan for new major donor acquisition.

6. Manage own process, calendar and budget while adhering to the policies and procedures of the organization, get along with peers, subordinates and management, and maintain a positive and constructive attitude while meeting stated objectives and solving problems.

7. Know, understand and protect the mission, goals and values of Jews for Jesus.


How Success is Measured?

? Be a contributing regional member of a measurable, sustainable and manageable national major donor fundraising team

? Grow your caseload revenues by a minimum of 10% quarterly (compared to previous year)

? Expand your Legacy Society Membership caseload (planned giving acknowledgements) by a minimum 10% quarterly (compared to previous year)


Other Qualifications


Spiritual: Must be a committed follower of Yeshua (Jesus)

Education: Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred

Experience: Must have 3 years of major donor fundraising or related experience

Communications: Must have excellent personal and written communications skills

Technology: Must have proficiency in workaday business-related computer activities

Learning: Must be willing to learn new tools, techniques and methodologies

The salary will depend on experience. There will be an incentive portion (bonus) to the salary.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
