VP Sales (Commercial)Direct and coordinate activities involving sale of commercial shipping services.
Resolve customer concerns regarding sales and service.
Review operational records and reports to project sales and determine profitability.
Oversee international, regional, and local sales staff.
Advise management on pricing schedules and recommend discount rates where it might increase sales.
Prepare budgets and approve budget expenditures for sales and marketing activities.
Monitor customer preferences to determine the focus of sales efforts.
Plan and direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and service programs.
Direct, coordinate, and review sales and service accounting and record-keeping, as well as receiving and shipping activity data.
Maintain current information on tariffs, licenses, and restrictions.
Provide management input on policies and operating procedures to ensure functional effectiveness of business and compliance with international shipping regulations.
Represent company at national and international trade meetings to promote services of the company.
Confer with potential customers regarding shipping needs and advise customers on types of services offered to meet their needs.
