67 an hour Who We Are Since its founding in 2010, Challenge Preparatory Charter School (Challenge Prep) has provided students and families with a successful academic program in Far Rockaway, Queens.
We currently serve over 1200 scholars from Kindergarten to 12th grade across 3 sites.
Our school's mission is to prepare students from the greater Far Rockaway community to excel academically, to demonstrate mastery of the NY State Learning Standards, and to achieve their career aspirations.
Challenge cultivates and supports the intellectual, aesthetic, social, emotional, and ethical development of its students and prepares them to be responsible 21st century citizens.
To accomplish its mission, Challenge offers a rigorous instructional program in a safe, supportive, technology-infused and data-enriched and social-emotional learning sequence, authentic field experiences, career counseling, and college coursework.
It is understood that we are one organization with multiple sites, and it is expected that all members of the team collaborate to support all of our scholars.
Understanding the Role The School Aide is responsible for performing duties that help staff, teachers, and students to provide an educational-focused working environment.
Duties include helping out in classrooms, in the office, in the lunchroom, at recess, and throughout the building/district as needed.
This is a part-time position.
assists teachers in supervising students throughout the school year.
He/She helps with record-keeping, class attendance, and grading assignments.
The School aide attends staff meetings so that they could provide support to teachers and students in all areas of instruction and learning.
The School Aide is often expected to work with a variety of small groups of students that might be struggling with a particular subject.
Duties and Responsibilities Supervising student arrivals, dismissal, and late-arrivals Supervising sessions of recess and lunch Monitors students during assigned periods within a variety of school environments (classroom, restroom, hallway, recess, busing, field trips, lunch, playground, etc.
) Assists in preparing instructional materials and helps students in the use of these resources Maintains a neat and orderly classroom.
Straighten chairs, tables, clear chalkboards, etc.
Assisting operational and teaching staff with tasks that include but are not limited to:
Maintaining storage and supply areas Assisting with unpacking/checking materials Maintaining student files Updating bulletin boards throughout the building Making copies and distributing materials to classes or students Support after-school and family events, as necessary Qualifications Train in CPR to effectively manage emergencies Strong commitment to an inclusion model of education; experience with and/or understanding of the urban learning environment At least 2 years of demonstrated success in a school setting Ability to build a strong school culture and positive relationships Bilingual/ Fluent in Spanish Good judgment and ability to navigate challenging situations Incredibly high expectations for all aspects of school and ownership over results Strong work ethic, is reflective and continually seeks to learn and improve Be a team player - a desire to work in a team-oriented environment and collaborate effectively with colleagues Based on qualifications and experience.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
