Summary:
Leadership and Team Management:
Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the wound care and hyperbaric team.
Recruit, train, and evaluate nursing, hyperbaric, and front-end team members, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality patient care.
Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
Manage and oversee the front-end team members, ensuring efficient and effective operations of the front desk and reception areas.
Provide leadership, guidance, and support to team members, promoting a patient-centric approach and ensuring exceptional patient experience.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing feedback, coaching, and identifying areas for improvement.
Provide strong administrative leadership to the wound care nursing team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality wound care services.
Develop and implement administrative policies, procedures, and protocols related to wound care, in collaboration with the healthcare administration.
Patient Care and Treatment:
Assess and manage complex wound care and hyperbaric patients, developing individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Oversee the coordination and delivery of wound care and hyperbaric treatments, ensuring adherence to established protocols and safety standards.
Monitor patient progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust treatment plans as necessary to optimize healing and minimize complications.
Successfully operate the hyperbaric chamber and associated systems and equipment.
Program Development and Quality Improvement:
Stay updated on the latest wound care and hyperbaric research, best practices, and industry standards, and implement evidence-based practices into the program.
Participate in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and protocols related to wound care and hyperbaric medicine.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and implement quality improvement initiatives.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting professional growth and development among the wound care team.
Education and Patient Advocacy:
Provide education and counseling to patients and their families regarding wound care management, prevention, and self-care techniques.
Serve as an advocate for patients, ensuring their needs are met and their voices are heard.
Conduct community outreach and educational programs to raise awareness about wound care and hyperbaric therapy.
Supply Management and Vendor Collaboration:
Manage inventory of wound care and hyperbaric supplies, ensuring an adequate stock of necessary materials and equipment.
Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to negotiate contracts, monitor pricing, and ensure timely delivery of products.
Coordinate payment processing for supplies, working closely with the finance department.
Verify insurance coverage and authorization for wound care and hyperbaric treatments, collaborating with insurance providers and patients to ensure necessary approvals are obtained.
Benchmarking Operational and Revenue Metrics Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operational and revenue metrics.
Regularly benchmark the hospital's performance against industry standards and best practices, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to optimize efficiency and revenue generation.
Analyze data and trends, generate reports, and present findings to the healthcare administration, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
Clinical Workflow Improvement Evaluate and optimize clinical workflows to ensure seamless patient care delivery, improved efficiency, and effective resource utilization.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and support staff to identify bottlenecks, streamline processes, and implement workflow enhancements.
Monitor and assess the impact of workflow changes on patient outcomes, staff productivity, and resource allocation.
Patient Surveys and Experience Enhancement Develop and implement patient satisfaction surveys to assess the quality of clinical operations and patient experience.
Analyze survey results and identify areas for improvement, implementing strategies to enhance patient satisfaction and engagement.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and support staff to implement patient-centered initiatives and enhance the overall patient experience.
Budget Monitoring and P&L Management:
Monitor budgets and financial performance related to clinical operations, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and financial goals.
Collaborate with the finance department to develop and manage the profit and loss (P&L) statements for the clinical operations.
Identify cost-saving opportunities, analyze financial data, and make recommendations to optimize resource allocation and improve financial performance.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher; Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
Valid NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license i Wound Care Certification and UHMS Hyperbaric 40 Hour Course.
Proven experience in wound care and hyperbaric nursing, with a strong understanding of wound healing principles, techniques, and modalities.
Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
