SUMMARY The part-time Girls L.
E.
A.
D (Learning Empowerment through Athletic Development) Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination & development of the Girls L.
E.
A.
D program.
They will provide ongoing support to all New York Edge staff & participants through in-person & virtual site visits to ensure high quality programming.
The coordinator will be responsible for leading training, clinics, and events within the Girls L.
E.
A.
D program.
Job Type:
Part Time, up to 25 hours a week Pay:
$27-30/hr Essential Job Functions:
Develop & create in-person & virtual Girls L.
E.
A.
D programming for NYE participants based on:
sports, fitness, health, wellness, social-emotional learning & leadership.
Coordinate & communicate relevant information to key stakeholders pertaining to Girls L.
E.
A.
D programming.
Create promotional materials related to relevant programming.
Coordinate and/or purchase supplies needed for events.
Conduct in-person & virtual site support visits for Girls L.
E.
A.
D programming across all NYE sites within the five boroughs.
Conduct in-person & virtual professional development for New York Edge staff to improve delivery of programming.
Assist in department-wide Sports & Wellness events, including the ability to work Saturdays.
Develop & create curriculum & other relevant resources related to the Girls L.
E.
A.
D program.
Be liaison between New York Edge After-School Program Directors, Program Managers and the Sports & Wellness Department.
Other related duties as assigned by the Director of Sports & Wellness and/or Sports Program Manager.
Required Skills:
Reliable, organized and punctual.
Knowledge of effective sports, health & fitness programming for female participants.
Strong leader and team-builder.
Ability to use a variety of computer based programs such as Google Suite, Adobe, Canva & LeagueApps.
Ability to resolve conflicts and negotiate solutions, while exhibiting strong character traits & exercise patience & creativity while seeking win-win scenarios.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with program staff.
Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with proven ability to interact with a diverse range of individuals, applying tact and discretion as situations demand.
Must have excellent organizational, time management and follow-up skills.
Responsible and professional conduct that serves as a role model to staff and youth.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required; Some college preferred.
1-3 years of work-related skill, knowledge & experience.
Event planning experience.
Preferred experience with NYCDOE or Public School System.
Strong communication skills (presentation and written), leadership abilities, flexibility and outstanding problem solving skills.
Must have the ability to travel throughout the five boroughs of NYC.
Available to work afternoons, evenings, and some weekends.
At time of offer and acceptance, the job requires safety and security clearances through the Department of Education and Department of Health.
